The ride to Mineola was rough and warm. The group ate lunch at the Grand Saline, where Morton still mines salt. The riders found a place for Blue Bell ice cream today . They are staying at Smith Chapel UM Church and were about to have dinner, and music by the children of the parish. Showers were installed for the Wandering Wheels group since they stop there every year.
Danny Powell, Larry's friend from OK, drove 3 hours to visit with him. If he brought his guitar with him, those kids are in for a treat. Danny was Larry's roommate at a guitar camp they attended in TN. Larry sounded in good spirits when I talked to him but he said the rough road surface did not make it a fun day.
