Deming NM 30 miles from Mexico

Weather was warm and less windy but had some gusts. Larry became the "rabbit" today. I guess everyone gets a turn leading the pack. After several voice mails, we connected today around 3 pm EST. He sounded very good and felt that he was keeping a good pace. He was waiting for the group while he called me. I did remind him that this was a RIDE not a RACE and to be careful. My dad got to talk to Larry today and offered him His legs if Larry was really tired. (my dad, Ercol Acri, is 90 years young). Larry biked 65 miles today.

Deming is named after Mary Ann Deming Crocker, wife of Charles Crocker, one of The Big Four of the railroad industry. The Silver Spike was driven here in 1881 to commemorate the meeting of the Southern Pacific with the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe railroads. This was the second transcontinental railroad to be completed in the United States.
